Tap the library to dock and walk in: every book on the shelf is inside. Two harbors, one library. Alexandria copied every book that came in on the ships. San Francisco Bay is where the new ships come in, carrying the first books made with AI. AIBOOKS stands between them: the colonnade and the fog, the old lighthouse and the bridge.

The Library of Mareundr

Alexandria held the world's books in one building and lost them, because each book lived in one copy. Mareundr is that library rebuilt for the age of AI. Every book is labelled, numbered and fingerprinted. Its catalog is written for people and for machines. Its scribes can write new books. Its lighthouse tells anyone what is true about a book. And its seed can rebuild the whole library anywhere.

The seven rooms

  1. I

    The Mouseion

    The Writers' Room

Alexandria kept scholars in residence. Mareundr keeps sixteen writing engines, one for each kind of book: horror, mystery, thriller, science fiction, history, picture books, young readers, school books, field guides, strategy, faith, design, health and contemporary fiction. Each has its own shape, voice and rules, and every book it writes is labelled as written by AI.

  2. II

    The Pinakes

    The catalog

Callimachus catalogued Alexandria on 120 scrolls. The Pinakes of Mareundr lists every book in the house, on the shelf, being written or planned, with who made it and what the AI did, in a form any person or machine can read.

  3. III

    The Pharos

    The register

The lighthouse told ships where the harbor was. The register tells anyone what is true about a book: its Certificate of Making, its seal, its fingerprint, and every correction ever made to it.

  4. IV

    The Harbor Rule

    For authors

Alexandria copied every book that came into its harbor. Mareundr takes any author's book made with AI, labels it honestly and shelves it beside the house's own.

  5. V

    The Stacks

    The wings

The Aisles are the stacks: every book on real shelves, wing by wing. The School Wing is planned next: a complete kindergarten to grade 12 curriculum for EducationAI.

  6. VI

    The Daughter Library

    The seed

The Serapeum outlived the great library. Mareundr's daughter is its seed: the catalog, the Making Standard and the register, free to copy, so the library can be rebuilt from any copy of it.

  7. VII

    The Fire Rule

    Never one copy

What burned at Alexandria was the only copy. Here nothing lives in one place, nothing changes in secret (every correction is logged, nothing is deleted), and every book comes in open formats a reader keeps for good.

The Writers' Room · sixteen engines

One machine, a writer for every kind of book. Every book goes the same way: a bible, an outline, the back cover, then one chapter at a time, each checked before the next begins; a revision pass; and only then the book. The label on it says it was written by AI and names the engine.

The house pen names · 13 authors

Publishers have long run a line of books under one name. These are AIBOOKS' house names: each is a line of books written by Claude (AI), and every book's label says so and names its engine. None imitates a living writer.

The Daughter Library · the seed

Copy it, keep it, rebuild from it. The seed is the whole catalog with every label, certificate number and fingerprint, written for people and for machines. Nothing in it is secret, and it is free to copy.
