The Business Author · AI Skill Card for Authors
by Lund Studio
An AI skill card for authors · Business · WD-19 · THE WRITERS' DESK
A business book promises an idea that changes how the reader works, and proof that it does. Readers expect a clear thesis, a framework they can remember, cases drawn from the public record and cited, tools they can use on Monday, and honesty about where the idea doesn't apply.
What it does, at your elbow while you plan
- Thirteen idea sparks for this shelf, new ones whenever you ask
- Your premise shaped into one sentence, and what this shelf's readers still expect from it
- The beat map laid on your length: where the turns usually fall, in words and chapters
- A plan to fill (STORY-PLAN.md) with every element, beat and character role as a heading
- A check of your plan: which elements and beats are named, which are still open (it never judges your writing)
- Making notes gathered into honest label lines: what you did, what the AI did, how you checked
What you get: one file, business-author-card.skill.zip (20 files): the card, the craft of the shelf written down, a small planning machine (Python, standard library) with its own selftest, a ledger, the licence note, and the LSC-1 card face.
How to use it: in Claude, turn on code execution, open Customize, then Skills, press +, choose Create skill, then Upload a skill, and upload the file as it came. Then say: "The Business Author: I want to start a new business book." Other AIs: paste the short prompt inside.
Plainly: the book stays yours, and every choice is yours. The card teaches the public craft of the shelf; it never imitates a living author and never promises a sale, an agent, a prize or a review. Selftest 19/19; self-tested on a studio fixture.
